The POSITIVE thread about the "Pro Roller Hockey Leagues"

Felt like trying to get the message board started, what's everyone's take in the MLRH Pro Tour, AIHL, & PIHA. Before you comment, please think about it....

Let's try something new beings it's a NEW site too....how about this...let's just see how many GOOD things we can list that the different leagues do?

Maybe if we do that it keeps everyone positive and it actually might create some good ideas down the road for all to benefit on....so list anything GOOD you can think of any of these leagues does. Fire Away!

Ive been around the sport since the early 90s,worked at the same inline rink since 96,the same rink that the RHI L.I JAWZ practiced at and the MLRH N.Y Riot played at,so to see Long Island have three pro teams is just a good sign for the game.I saw some PIHA teams play in Feasterville,P.A ,my first thoughts were the speed of the game and the talent level, this sat may2nd,I whatched the AIHL L.I 495ers and later that night the Suffolk Sharks.I love the Idea that these leagues have formed,Im sure fans and players have their opinion on which league is better,But overall these leagues are helping the sport grow.Hopefully only good could come from this.Rollerhockey is still such a young sport and these leagues are heading in the right direction. In my opinion all these leagues give more kids a chance to play at a higher level.I like what Im seeing so far.

I agree, I think all of the leagues have talent, most share a lot of the same players with seasons overlapping & schedules overlapping. I think in their own rights, all of the big 3 (MLRH, PIHA, AIHL) have things that they each do that are good for the game, Communication is the best way to improve the sport and they all seem to be trying lately. Good things...I believe the sport is on another uprise shortly, just my opinion!

I think the idea of these Pro Roller Hockey leagues are great for the sport. I currently play in the AIHL for the Maryland Crusaders and love it since it allows for competitive roller hockey in areas that do not always support the sport. There are no formal roller hockey leagues within and hour and a half from me but with these pro leagues they allow for elite players to travel on weekends to play top teams in other states. I have yet to play in PIHA or any other pro leagues, but I believe that they are all headed in the right direction on showing what all these younger players can look forward to later on in life. I have played roller hockey competitively for close to 12 years now, and I yet to think about playing in just beer leagues. These pro leagues allow for great competitive hockey where you can play all sorts of different teams with top-of-the-line roller hockey players. With time, these pro leagues will be far more popular than they are now so long as they start setting more guidelines and standards to abide by. There are to many lieniencies and misunderstandings due to all of the different rules. The best thing that could happen is for there to be more coordination between all of these leagues or possibly merging them into one organization with multiple leagues.

I know the one thing I would like to see is one insurance group handle the insurance for roller hockey.I dont know how the pro leagues handle that but for the tournaments it gets crazy, AAU, USA Inline ,RHA(torhs-narch,state wars,)what about the pro leagues, how do they handle the Insurance?
